🏃♂️ 2026 Southern Bay of Islands Cross Country, hosted by Karetu School!
Date: Friday, 11th September 2026 (Postponement day: Monday, 14th Sept)
Location: United Kawakawa Rugby Grounds
Time: 10:00 AM – 1:45 PM (Starts with a Pōwhiri at 10:00 AM)
Ages: 5 to 13 years (Please write your child's age on their wrist)
👟 Key Details & What to Bring
Footwear Required: The course is muddy and uneven—shoes are strongly advised (and taping them on is recommended!).
Gear: Bring a full change of clothes, a wet gear bag, a ground sheet, and a gazebo if you have one.
Safety: Railway lines and the river are strictly out of bounds.
Spectators must view from fencelines or the cycle trail to keep the track clear.
Parking: Limited space—carpooling is encouraged.
🌭 Food & Refreshments (CASH ONLY)
Karetu School is running a cash-only fundraiser (tickets available outside the clubrooms for $1.00 each, no EFTPOS): Menu: Sausage sizzle, mussel fritters, hot chips, ice blocks, and bottled water. For Parents: Free tea and coffee, plus raffles for purchase! (Note: This is a smoke, vape, and dog-free event. Please no personal BBQs.)
