Principal's Welcome

It is a privilege to lead Maromaku School, a place where our rural roots and modern learning go hand-in-hand. Our guiding vision is to develop modern learners with country values, ensuring our ākonga are prepared for the future while remaining grounded in the heart of our community.

We believe that being a "small school" is our greatest strength. It allows us to truly know every child, understand their passions, and support their growth in a way that larger schools simply can’t. At the core of everything we do are our three school values:

Respect: Valuing ourselves, others, and our beautiful Northland environment.
Kindness: Nurturing a supportive whānau atmosphere where everyone belongs.
Perseverance: Encouraging our students to keep trying, stay curious, and aim high.

Whether our ākonga are experimenting in the STEAM room, perfecting their stroke in the pool, or exploring the nature that surrounds us, they are encouraged to be courageous and resilient. We are more than just a school; we are whānau.
